Ronald Allen McKenzie

Ronald Allen McKenzie, 91, of Fort Gratiot, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the comfort of his home.

He was born July 1, 1934, in Port Huron, the son of the late Duncan and Phyllis (Brewer) McKenzie.

His marriage to Irene Ludington was June 18, 1955, in Port Huron.

Ronald was a lifetime local automotive mechanic who retired in 1990. He was a Boy Scout Leader and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Ronald loved his family and spending quality time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Irene, and his two daughters, Teresa Meyers and Vickie (Robert) Collins both of Fort Gratiot; a daughter-in-law, Pamela McKenzie; grandchildren, Michelle (Pete) Johnson, Amy (Donald) Stearns, Steven (Cindy) Totten Jr., Crystal (Quinn) Thornton, Eric (Joanna) Meyers; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchild; his sisters, Patricia Edie, Alice Felter, and Nancy Rapson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald McKenzie Jr., in February 2025; his father, Duncan (Grace) McKenzie; his mother, Phyllis Brewer; his siblings, Duncan (Barbara) McKenzie, Ken (Vicki) McKenzie, and Kathleen McKenzie; and brothers-in-law, Gene Felter and Tom Edie.

The family honors the memory of Ronald and invites you to visit and share memories Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Lisa Clark, pastor of Capac Methodist Church, will officiate.
