Ronald H. Meekins

Ronald H. "Ron" Meekins, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 89. Ron was born on January 29, 1936, to the late Ernest L. and Violet A. (Meck) Meekins in Central City, PA.

Ron was a Navy Veteran, serving from 1954-1958, then as a reservist until 1962. He then devoted many years of his life as a school teacher at Jersey Shore Area Junior High, where he inspired countless students with his dedication and enthusiasm. Outside of the classroom, he was an avid outdoorsman who cherished hunting and fishing trips. His love for sports extended to the court and the green, where he enjoyed playing racquetball and golfing.

Winters in Florida provided Ron with cherished moments of warmth and relaxation, and he had a keen interest in traveling, which allowed him to explore new places and create lasting memories with his loved ones. Above all, Ron was a devoted family man who took immense pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Meekins. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara A. (Savering) Meekins, their four daughters, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly and carry his memory in their hearts.
