Ronald Ray Menefee, 77, of Port Washington died Saturday evening of July 12, 2025, in Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, following an extended illness.
Ronald was born on April 16, 1948, in New Cumberland, Ohio to the late John Nelson and Delphia Pearl (McCoy) Menefee. He attended Port Washington Schools before going into the workforce. He worked various jobs with various companies throughout the years, including Job Corps in Minnesota, a security guard, in the shop at U.S. Concrete making clay sewar pipe, and owned a tree trimming service. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed being outdoors fishing and gardening. He also liked to do a little gambling and go to yard sales.
Surviving are his two children: Dusty Menefee of Anchorage, Alaska, and Shannon Garabrandt of Midvale; six grandchildren: Elysha Menefee, Jonathon Menefee, Taylor Bruce, Jacob Garabrandt, Chad Garabrandt Jr., and Kimberly Black; two great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Levi; brothers and sisters: Annabelle (Carl) Haupert, Rick (Vickie) Menefee, and Twyla (Brian) Beckett, all of Port Washington, Bonnie Stergeon of Dennison, and Darrell (Kathy) Menefee of Tennessee; a brother-in-law Donnie Mooneyham of Tennessee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by siblings Helen Mooneyham and Willard Menefee, brother-in-law Craig Stergeon, and sister-in-law Kathy Menefee.
Following his wishes, Ronald will be cremated. The family will hold a memorial covered dish gathering on July 18, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Port Washington Community Center, 216 W. Main Street, Port Washington, Ohio 43837. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
