Ronald Mickler, Sr.

June 4, 1943 – August 11, 2025

Ronald Mickler, Sr., age 82, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts forever: beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Barnett); loving father of Colleen Pfeiffer (Steve) and Ronald Jr. (Lindsey); cherished grandfather of Noelle, Meagan, Steven, Miles, and Chandler, dear brother of Bob Mickler (Karen), Debbie Ropelewski (John), and the late Joann Carlson, and uncle to many. Born on June 4, 1943, to the late John and Ethel Mickler, Ron lived a life marked by honor, loyalty, humility, and joyful adventure.

A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Ron served his country with courage and conviction. Following his military service, he dedicated 46 years of hard work to Cleveland Coca-Cola, embodying the values of perseverance, reliability, and quiet strength. Known for his unwavering commitment to his family and his deep love of hunting, fishing, nature, and animals-especially dogs-Ron was a man who found beauty in the simple things and lived life with integrity and grace.

Ron had a lifelong love of model trains and was a proud member of the Cuyahoga Valley and West Shore Model Railroad Club. He applied his creative and artistic spirit to the club and was a devoted member for nearly 30 years. He could fix just about anything, often with a clever touch and a smile. He was a man of faith who believed in service over self and lived each day guided by strong moral principles and Catholic values.

Ron's legacy is one of love, faith, service, and family. He loved spending time with his cherished grandchildren, and though he has departed from this life, the lessons he taught, the stories he told, and the steadfast love he gave will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 14040 Puritas Ave. Monday, August 18 at 9:30 a.m. Private Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF LAKEWOOD 14133 DETROIT AVE. SUNDAY 1-4 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org, or to Veterans Against Alzheimer's at www.usagainstalzheimers.org/networks/veterans, honoring his service and legacy.

He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
