Age 87, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 29, 1938, in Monessen, PA, Ron was the beloved son of the late Arthur Lee Minnie and the late Elizabeth Rendleman Minnie. He grew up in Monessen, where his quiet strength, strong faith, and love of family began to shape the man he would become. A proud graduate of Monessen High School, Ron attended Westminster College on a basketball and track scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. His dedication and talent led to his induction into Westminster's Hall of Fame.

Ron dedicated his life to God, family, and community. He was ordained a Deacon at Union Baptist Church in Monessen while in his early years. As a community servant, Ron served on The School Board for The Monessen City School District. Moving to Pittsburgh, Ron continued his life of service. He served as a Career Counselor for The Urban League and for the YWCA to individuals looking to re-enter the workforce. While at New Zion Baptist Church, he served faithfully for over two decades in the drama and music ministries, and on the Trustee and Deacon Boards. After retirement and moving to Las Vegas, Ron became a Deacon at Victory Missionary Church. A gifted singer, Ron continued to lend his voice to multiple church choirs and was an active participant in Sunday School and The Keenagers Ministry. Known for his humility and thoughtfulness, he inspired others with his deep devotion to Scripture.

Outside of church, Ron found joy in urban ballroom dancing, playing Rummikub, spending time with family, and reflecting quietly on the world around him. Though soft-spoken, his words carried great weight, and his calm, steady presence was a source of strength to those who loved him.

Ron leaves behind his devoted wife, Janet R. Strothers Minnie; his sisters Hortense "Teenie" Maddox, Catherine "Noochie" Rawlings, and Phyllis Minnie; his children Ronald A. Minnie, Jr., Zenobia "Zeze" M. Minnie, Joetta R. Walker, John T. Walker IV, Kenya B. Minnie, Janissa E. Macon, and Tamika R. Vasquez; lifelong friends Felton Brown and Maurice Rice; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Arthur Lee "Ricky" Minnie, Jr.

Friends and Family will be received at William F. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd. 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. followed by a repast at Mt. Hope Community Presbyterian Church, 12106 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ron's honor to Family Hospice (https://host.nxt.blackbaud.com/donor-form/?svcid=renxt&formId=357a3881-16df-4ea3-a030-14cead92c534&envid=p-tNr2GE3Z60-7JxCJ6cd_NA&zone=usa).

Ron's life was a quiet testimony of faith, humility, and steadfast love. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
