Ronald Mitchell, age 81 of Luzerne, MI, passed away on March 6, 2026 in Panama City Beach, Florida. Ron was born on February 8, 1945 in Grayling, MI to the late Everett W. (Pick) and Lois J. (Buchanan) Mitchell.
Ron grew up in Luzerne, where he enjoyed life with his three brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He loved family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and had a great appreciation of firearms, which led him to being an avid collector.
Ron attended Mio High School and became a lineman as his profession. He moved to Great Falls, MT, where he married, and his son Casey Mitchell was born. Ron and Casey later moved back to Luzerne.
In 2012, Ron reconnected with his first love Candy (Narlock) and they were remarried.
Ron is survived by his wife, Candy; son, Casey (Crissy) Mitchell; step-children, Eric Peszko and Katrina Merchant; grandkids, Courtney Peak, Christopher (Kenzie) Mitchell, Carson Mitchell, and Coby Mitchell, and Sara Merchant; great-grandkids, Rowen, Riley, Penelope, and Matthew Mitchell, Cassidy Flansburg, and Hope, Dj, and Victoria Peak, and Adrian and Darian Merchant; his sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck (Virginia), Gary (Carol), and Joe (Kathi) Mitchell.
He was a Lifetime member of the NRA and belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Ron enjoyed life to the fullest and lived it the way he chose.
Visitation at the Luzerne Baptist Church at 12 Noon Friday, March 13, 2026 with Services at 1 p.m. with Pastor James Durfee officiating. Interment at the Luzerne Cemetery, Luzerne, Michigan.
