Ron began his career with the Chickasha Police Department. In 1978, he joined the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma as a security officer and later served as Chief of Security. He dedicated many years to the university community before retiring in 2010.
In 1978, Ron married Kay Dian Cole Mitchell. He was the beloved father of Kimberly Kay Hall Stice. Ron was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church and an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Chickasha.
Ron was known for his friendly nature and genuine kindness. Ron never met a stranger and was always happy to sit and visit with anyone. He made sure the people he loved knew it. Above all, he dearly loved his wife Kay, his daughter Kim, and his dog Max.
He was preceded in death by his father, Avery McClain, his mother Ruth Madaline Brower, his stepfather Allison Mitchell, and his older brother Joe McClary.
