Ronald Emory Moody, 90, of Athens, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Mr. Moody was born in Miller County, Georgia where he grew up on his family's farm. He was the son of the late Robert Patrick Moody and Lilla Corley Moody. He attended both Abraham Baldwin College and the University of Georgia where he studied Agricultural. He retired after 30 years with Sears. Mr. Moody was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan who loved his animals, especially his horses, and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moody was preceded in death by sisters: Doris Lilla Moody and Anne Moody McDonald.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Peggy Tarpley Moody of Athens; children: Tanya Moody Glosson (Billy) of Gainesville, GA, Tracy Lee Moody of Center Barnstead, NH and Ronald Todd Moody of Athens; and grandchildren: William Vandiver Glosson, Monica Glosson Macer, Jamie Moody Pryor and Tyler Tarpley Moody.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, with Rev. Crist Camden officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
