Ronald "Ron" Mrjenovich, 48, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away on December 9, 2025.
Born in Hammond, Indiana, Ron lived a life defined by independence, adventure, and an unmistakable free spirit. Over the years he traveled across the country, calling many places home- including Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona, and Iowa - and leaving lasting impressions everywhere he went.
He cherished time spent with his family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for all things fast and loud: his "Badass Jeep", BMX biking, snowboarding, mosh pits, fishing, gardening, and a deep love for music. His playlists were filled with the bands that fueled him - Pennywise, Slayer, Aggression, Terror, and Pantera - and the energy they brought matched the way he lived.
A graduate of both high school and the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, Ron never hesitated to get his hands dirty. Throughout his life, he worked in many jobs including carpentry, construction, truck driving, and auto repair.
Ron also faced the difficult struggle of alcoholism, a burden he carried for many years. Though it challenged him, it never erased the warmth, humor, or goodness that those who loved him knew was always there. His family hopes his journey sheds light on the struggles faced by all who are affected by addiction.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Mrjenovich, and her partner, Herbert Brownett; his sister Rori McDougal (Tom); his stepmother, Marilou Mrjenovich; and his sisters from Marilou: Mary Denise Cienkus (Matt), Tammi Perry (Tony), and Tara DeRolf (Keith). He is also lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Mrjenovich, his brothers-in-laws, Tom McDougal and Matt Cienkus, and his dog he was so devoted to, Recon.
Ron will be remembered for his humor, his stubborn kindness, his adventurous nature, and his independent thinking. His absence will be felt deeply by those who knew and loved him.
He is at peace now and hopefully riding free forever.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Friday, December 19th, 2025, 11:00 AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. The family will plan a celebration of life in the Midwest in the future.
