Ronald Walter Nerby passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home in Manitowish Waters, WI on May 23, 2024 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Bielenberg); his children Kimberly (Craig) Austin, Daniel (Michelle) Nerby, Tracey (Paul) Magyar and Jennifer Fadrowski; his grandchildren Alec, Taylor, Angela, Faith, Jacob, Daniel, Emily, Evann and Ethan, who affectionately call him Papa; his great grandchildren Graham, Levi, Evelyn and Eleanor; his sister Laurie (Jim) Albrecht, sisters in law Suellen Nerby and Joan Nerby; his aunt Shirley “Toby” Hyland and many, many nieces, nephews and friends. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Jane and his brothers, Terry and Dennis.
Born on August 14, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI Ron was a mentor and role model for many. Ron was a High School athlete at Washington High, a medic in the Army and involved with the Pioneers of America and Special Olympics. Ron retired from Wisconsin Bell/AT&T at the age of 51, where he worked for 30+ years. He was a planner of all things fun including golf outings, family trips, deer hunting, movie night in Florida and outings with friends. Ron was the happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends.
There are two types of people on this earth: those who loved Ron and those who didn't know him. May his memory be a blessing to all.
In lieu of flowers we would love donations to go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We as a family will be participating in the LLS 2024 Scenic Shore Bike Tour Fundraiser on July 27, 2024, in our dad’s name. We would love for you to join us on this ride.
