Everett, PA – Ronald Ogden "Ron" Britner, Jr., 95, of Everett, PA and formerly of Williamsport, MD and North Beach Park, MD passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at UPMC Altoona, PA.

He was born on June 24, 1930, in Williamsport, MD to the late Ronald Ogden Sr. and Dorothy Jane (Irwin) Britner.

He was predeceased by his wife, Anna M. (Traver) Britner on August 9, 2025. They were married for over 70 years.

Ron was a 1948 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland in 1958.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War.

He was an Electronic Engineer with NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center for 33 years until his retirement in 1987. While working at NASA he received many service awards and was instrumental in developing the early design studies of the International Space Station.

He was a member of Bedford Valley Bible Church in Centerville, PA. He was a very active member.

Ron was a charter member of the Williamsport Hunt Club, life member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion Williamsport, MD and the Last Man's Club.

He was the proverbial joiner in community and conservative political organizations his whole life.

Ron took delight in gardening, growing fruits, and his award-winning vegetables at the Bedford County Fair.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting his entire life.

He is survived by his daughter Sophia A. Montgomery and her husband Thomas of Perry Hall, MD; son Ronald O. Britner, III and his fiancée' Dawn Di Lorenzo of Morganton, GA; sister Dorothy Hager-Brobst of Kittyhawk, NC; brother David Britner of Hagerstown, MD.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his infant daughter Julianna Jane Britner; brothers James Britner, William Britner, and Harry Britner.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm with Pastor John Hollis officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
