With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald Paul, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 81 surrounded by family at Randolph Health Services.
Born on February 18, 1944 in Beaver Dam, WI to Ernest and Catherine (Baszynski) Paul, Ron dedicated his life to service, family, and the outdoors. On October 10, 1964 he married Kathleen Nickel at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1996 and worked for the State of Wisconsin for 30 years. In addition to his career, he also owned and operated his own business on the side selling Go-Devil products.
A man of deep faith, he was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church, serving as a CCD teacher, usher, and greeter. A proud veteran, Ron was a member of the American Legion of Fox Lake and remained dedicated to supporting fellow servicemen and women.
A passionate outdoorsman, he was a lifelong sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, and the NRA, and his love for duck hunting even took him to South America.
Ron shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Kathleen. He is survived by his sons: Michael Paul of Fox Lake and Steve (Lori) Paul of Marinette; grandchildren: Cody Paul, Robert (Lexi) Paul, and Beth (Addison) Paul; siblings: Dale (Laura) Paul, Janice Johnson, and Ken (Nancy) Paul; brother-in-law, Jack (Toni) Nickel; sister-in-law, Margaret (Ronald) Giannoni; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Jess and Winifred Nickel; daughter-in-law, Jean Deich Paul; sister-in-law, Ruthie Nickel; brother-in-law, Jim Nickel; and nephew, Nicolas Johnson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at SSM Health, Randolph Health Services, and Med Flight for their compassionate care and support during Ron’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Ron’s memory may be directed to American Legion Post 521.
Ron’s kindness, humor, and love will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Ron. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
