Ronald Peyton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home on Feb. 26, 2026.
Ronald Earl Peyton, lovingly known as "Ronnie" passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. A man whose quick wit and natural humor could brighten any room, Ronnie's friends often said he missed his true calling as a comedian. He had a gift for storytelling, a perfectly timed punchline, and a way of making everyone around him feel at ease.

Ronnie found happiness in life's everyday blessings. He enjoyed watching services from Bellevue Baptist Church. Some of his most treasured moments were spent outdoors, cutting firewood, hunting for mushrooms in the woods, fishing, and trot lining with his sons.

Above all, Ronnie loved deeply. He found the love of his life in Wanda, and together they built a beautiful life over 40 years of marriage. Their bond was one of devotion, friendship, and joy. One of their fondest traditions began after watching Dirty Dancing; they started the nightly habit of dancing together in their own home. Those quiet dances, shared in the comfort of their living room, kept them closely connected and remain a cherished memory of their enduring love.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Jenell Peyton, and his sister, Sharon Marie Peyton.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Wanda Peyton, their sons; Lonnie Bridges (Sandra) and Scottie Bridges, his brothers; Jr. Peyton and Gary Peyton, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

In honoring Ronnie's wishes, services will be private.

His life was well lived, his love well given, and his memory will forever be treasured.
