Jason Coy Ferrell

March 15, 1975 – February 20, 2026

Jason Coy Ferrell, age 50, passed away on February 20, 2026. Born on March 15, 1975, Jason lived a life marked by laughter, loyalty, and a deep love for his family and friends. Jason spent many years working in the landscaping business, where his strong work ethic and pride in a job well done were evident to all who knew him. A true and die-hard Roll Tide fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on Alabama, especially when he could do so surrounded by the people he loved.

A graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1993, Jason made his mark early as the percussion section leader in the school band. He had a natural rhythm and a true love for the drums, and he played them well. That same passion and dedication carried into every part of his life.

Jason was known for his quick wit and playful spirit. He loved to aggravate you just enough to get a laugh, and his sense of humor could brighten even the hardest days. Beneath the jokes was a man with a big heart who loved deeply and fiercely.

He was especially proud of his children, whom he loved beyond measure. When his son was younger, Jason treasured the time he spent coaching him in basketball, creating memories that will live on forever. Recently, Jason was given one of his most precious titles, "Granddaddy," when his son and daughter-in-law welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the family, a joy that filled his heart completely.

Jason was an only child, and his mother was always his biggest fan and steadfast supporter. He was also forever his Memaw's baby, a role he carried with love and pride throughout his life. Jason will be remembered as a wonderful friend, devoted son, proud father and grandfather, and a beloved grandson, nephew, and cousin. His laughter, his music, and his love for those closest to him will never be forgotten.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rovan Ferrell, and two cousins; Brian & Kristina Ferrell. He is survived by his mother; Delois "Janie" Fowler, two children; Sklyar (Amelia) Ferrell and Madison Ferrell, one granddaughter; Haisley Ferrell, grandmother; Maxine Cranford, uncles; Alvis (Karen) Ferrell and Robert (Tina) Ferrell, one aunt; Teresa (Randy) Ervin, two step-siblings; Scott Fowler and Robin Fowler, and many other family members and friends.

There will be a memorial service held by the family held on March 7th, 2026 at Crossway Cowboy Church on Mt. Carmel Rd in Covington, Tn.
