Martha Murchison

Martha Ann Murchison, 90, a woman whose life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and devotion to family, passed away on February 12, 2026.

Martha was known by all as the sweetest, kindest woman. She was a true people person who made everyone feel welcome and valued. Her heart was open to all, and she had a rare gift for loving deeply and unconditionally. To many, she was more than a relative or friend; she was like a mother. She listened without judgment, gave without expectation, and stood faithfully beside those who needed her. No matter the circumstance, Martha was always there.

Family was the joy and purpose of her life. She treasured every gathering, every story shared around the table, and every precious moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In her younger years, Martha expressed her love through crocheting, carefully crafting baby blankets and handmade dolls for her family. She had a deep love for reading and collecting books.

Martha embraced life fully and intentionally. She kept a bucket list and took great joy in checking off the dreams and adventures.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, James David Murchison Sr, her parents, Robert Carver and Hazel Cook Carver, her siblings; Bob Carver (Georgia), Lawrence Carver (Mary), Otis Carver, RE Carver (Rhonda), Bessie Lou and Bennie Carver .

Martha is survived by her loving children; James David Murchinson Jr (Donna), Rita Rymanowicz (Ken), Dorothy Jean Simpson (Joe), Lisa Murchison, her siblings; Lonnie Carver (Sherrel), Phyllis Avato (Joe), Anna Fultz (Donald), Wanda Ferrer along with generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home with a service to follow. Burial will be at RH Munford Cemetery.
