Jeffery Johnson

Jeffery Johnson, age 54 of Mason, TN, passed away on November 11, 2025. Born and raised in Covington, Tennessee, Jeffery graduated from Covington High School in 1989. He had as deep appreciation for military history and a lifelong love of firearms. His knowledge of guns and history was unmatched; he could talk for hours about both. Jeffery was also known for his remarkable mechanical skill. Whether it was working on cars, trucks, or engines of any kind, he had an incredible ability to diagnose and repair just about anything. His greatest calling, however, was a life of service. Jeffery dedicated many years to protecting and serving his community. He was a proud member of the Mason Police Department, where he served with honor. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as a 911 dispatcher, ensuring that help reached those in need quickly and compassionately. He also served as a reserve police officer for the Atoka Police Department and later as a deputy with the Tipton County Sheriff's Department. In addition, Jeffery worked for 15 years as a correctional officer, where through dedication and leadership he rose to the rank of Correctional Sergeant. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Johnson and his brother, Ronald Keith Johnson. Jeffery is survived by his mother, Barbara Twisdale, his children; Jeremiah Johnson and Jacob Johnson (Danielle), grandsons; Paxton Harkness, Frankie Johnson, and Charlie Johnson, his sisters; Cynthia Johnson and Heather Johnson, his sister-in-law, Debra Ann Johnson. Funeral services will be held at Maley Yarbrough on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 2pm. Visitation will take place an hour prior. burial to follow the service at Walton cemetery.
