Celebrating the Life of Ronald E. Putnam
June 1, 1938 – May 31, 2025
Ronald E. Putnam, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025-just one day shy of his 87th birthday. Born on June 1, 1938, to Mabel and Elmer Putnam, Ron grew up in Detroit, Michigan alongside his sister Beverly. He began his working life at Ford Motor Company, where he proudly served before moving to Florida in 1968 to begin the next chapter of his journey.
In Florida, Ron worked for a painting company and later at a local hardware store in Seminole. Fate had special plans for him there-right next door was a laundromat where he met the love of his life, Pam Milnes. They married in 1982 and built a beautiful life together, welcoming three children: Tim, Krystal, and Angela.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Ron and Pam eventually opened their own business, Putnam Paint & Hardware, a fixture in the community that they ran with heart and integrity for 35 years. Beyond his professional life, Ron had a servant's heart. He was deeply involved in Boy Scout Troop 334 at Clearwater Methodist Church and was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.
In retirement, Ron and Pam moved into the Golden Gate Community, where Ron quickly became known for his friendly spirit and famous bacon at the Men's Breakfasts. He treasured simple joys-card games like pinochle and euchre, leisurely neighborhood walks, and challenging puzzles.
Ron's legacy lives on through his wife, Pam Putnam; his children Tim Putnam, Krystal Putnam, and Angela (Jeremy) Ahlquist; and his cherished grandchildren: Amber Nickell, Gabriel, Nathaniel, Ethan, Alyssa, Aaron, and Abigail Ahlquist. He is also survived by his sister Beverly; Brother-in-law Jim Milnes; nieces Nicole, Shauna, and Michelle; nephew Chris; and his great-nieces and great-nephew.
He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents Mabel and Elmer Putnam, in-laws Charles "Chuck" and Pat Milnes, and a beloved nephew.
Please join Ron's family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10–11 a.m., wearing your best Hawaiian shirt, just as Ron would've wanted-colorful, casual, and full of life. Together, we'll honor the incredible man who touched so many lives with his warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness.
