Ronald Raasch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas Funeral Home - Corydon on Jan. 11, 2026.
Ronald W. Raasch 84 was born October 30, 1941, in Bancroft, Nebraska to Waldo (Speck) Raasch and Patricia Lu (Larson) Raasch. Ron passed away, Friday, January 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by family that he loved so dearly. Ron grew up in Bancroft helping his dad and grandfather farm while attending school. He excelled in football and basketball, leading his team to state which he was very proud of. He graduated from Bancroft in 1959.
On January 14, 1964, he married the love of his life and soul mate, Diane Malmberg. Ron and Dee enjoyed 62 years together and were nearly inseparable. You rarely saw one without the other. This union was blessed with four children – Sean, Teri Lin, Ryan, and Chad.
Ron and Diane enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. he loved the clear water and white sandy beaches – a good Margarita or Pina Coloda. As their kids grew up, they enjoyed watching all four play sports. And when all four kids played on the same night and in various places it was a challenge. Then there were grandkids and what a joy it was to watch them and the journeys they took us on. Now he has great grands, and he was enjoying their sporting events. Each and every grand and great grand brought him immense joy.
After several jobs and moves Ron decided to return to college and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Chadren State College. His accounting skills led him to Shivvers Inc. in Corydon where he served as CFO. He worked for Shivvers for 35 years before retiring.
Ron had a great love of nice cars and thoroughly enjoyed his corvettes. He enjoyed driving and working on them as many clutches were blown during his drag racing days. Convertibles were his favorite. Ron was always cold, but he could drive down the road with the top down at 60 mph in 45-degree temps and be Happy!!
During his lifetime, he and Dee built two homes together. Lots of blood, sweat and tears. His attitude was, "You can do anything you put your mind to," and he lived this. He loved taking care of his yard, and only he could mow it the right way. He loved riding his Shivvers mower.
Ron was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He made sure all were taken care of. He was the absolute "Truest Family Man" and will be missed and remembered by us all. He loved and was loved. His legacy will live on through all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife Diane, children: Sean Raasch (Nicole), Teri Noe (Mike), Ryan Raasch (Jessica), grandchildren: Stacey Mokosak, Grant Raasch (Kayla), Mackenzie Raasch, Cale Raasch (Cassie), Ty Noe (Lauryn), Garrett Noe (Alyssa), Bryer Noe (Payton), Ronan Raasch (Alex), Keagan Raasch (Reba), six great grandchildren and one on the way along with numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Chad Raasch and two sisters: Sharon Savery, Patrice Maise.
