Mr. Ratkos, age 85 years, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Ron was born on January 20, 1940, in Pinconning, Michigan to Edward & Angeline (Wielgos) Ratkos. Ron served in the United States Army and spent a tour in Korea. He was a member of Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 162 in Bay City, Michigan and served as an officer for over 40 years.
Ronnie enjoyed playing Euchre, country music, singing karaoke, playing Lotto, and bird watching. Ron is survived by his former wife Paula and their 3 children Karen (Tom) Scheetz, Ron (Kris) Ratkos Jr, and Christine (Bob) Thompson, siblings, Kathy (John) Lambert, and Eddie (Laura) Ratkos, 9 grandchildren, Jeremiah Scheetz, Tony Sheetz, Nathaniel (Ellie) Scheetz,, Daniel (Kaycee) Ratkos, Emily (Andy) Suarez, Elizabeth and Amy Ratkos, Logan (Paxton) Culp, Casey (Morgen)Culp great grandchildren Jude, Milo, Mila, Elijah, Lincoln, and Livy, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both his parents, and sisters Bev Tinker, Karen, Elaine and Judy Ratkos.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 3:00 pm, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning Chapel, with Kathy Bersano presiding with full Military Funeral Honors, with cremation to follow. Friends and family may visit at the chapel from 11:00 am until time of service.
