In Loving Memory of our father, Ronald Farr Reeves Jr.
18th August 2023 marks the day when we bid farewell to our beloved father, Ronald Reeves Jr., who fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer over the last two years. Surrounded by his cherished family and loved ones, Ronald peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Born 2nd December 1954, naturally New Orleans, Ron brought an undeniable warmth, unique humor and jovial spirit to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a loving father, son, brother, a dedicated grandfather, and a true friend to many. His genuine smile and fondness for being the ultimate joker brought joy to the lives of many. He loved nature, adventure and exploring the national parks of the US. He was a man who would give the shirt off his back to help another. Ron was a dedicated member of the Church of the King and several fellowship groups, part of the cornerstone of his strong commitment to his life as a Christian and service to others.
Throughout his life, Ron's determination and work ethic were inspired by generously providing the very best he could for his family and loved ones. Working in Operations at Southwest Airlines for over 30+ years, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, forging lasting relationships and making work fun for many.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ron's greatest joy came from being a family man. He was dedicated to his family, always ready to lend a helping hand, offer wise advice, or share a cracking joke. His love knew no bounds, and he took great pride in helping each of us, guiding us through life's ups and downs with unwavering support. His greatest achievement was the love he bestowed as a father and grandfather.
Despite the challenges he faced during his battle with pancreatic cancer, Ron showed unparalleled hope, faith in God, strength and resilience. He faced each day with courage, maintaining his optimism and faith, and teaching us the true meaning of grace under pressure. He will always be our hero.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the beautiful memories and life lessons he imparted to us. Ron's generosity, and zest for life will continue to live on through the lives he touched, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and fellowship, which will serve as a guiding light. Ron's memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of his beloved daughters Jessica Reeves and Christi Reeves, his loving mother Joan Reeves, his loving siblings Kelly Bourgois, Dean Reeves, Darren Reeves and John Reeves, his adoring grandchildren Benjamin Guste and Susan Guste and all of his many nieces and nephews. We find solace in knowing that he is now at peace, watching over us from above, forever our guardian angel.
A Memorial Service will be held on 28th August 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man and to bid him a heartfelt farewell.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Park Foundation or any charity close to your heart, as Ron's legacy of being an adventurer and nature-lover continues even after his passing. Ron has chosen to be cremated and his ashes will later be placed in Lake Tahoe by his daughters and grandchildren. A memorial stone will be placed closer to home on the Mandeville Lakefront in due course.
Though our hearts break at the loss of our dearest dad, we find comfort in the knowledge that he is now free from pain, resting in eternal peace. We will forever cherish the moments we shared and carry his spirit within us, for his love will forever be our comfort.
Rest in peace, dear dad, with love beyond words. We will miss you forever and be eternally grateful for the life we shared with you as our father.
