Ronald J. Richards

Ronald J. Richards, 72, Marshfield, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Ronald was born on June 21, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan, to William and Rosemary (Purkat) Richards. He was a 1967 graduate of Holy Cross Seminary in LaCrosse where he made many lifelong cherished friends. He attended the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse and graduated there with a Master's Degree. He married Theresa H. Horihan on August 25, 1973 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in LaCrosse.
Ron had been a special education teacher, investment banker, entrepreneur, and a great husband, father and grandfather.
He enjoyed outdoor life, camping, cross country skiing, cycling, boating, time at the cabin with family and friends and was a world traveler.
He is survived by his wife, Terri and their daughters, Roseann (John) Hines of Duluth, MN and Laura (Jonathan) Williams of Gilford, NH and four grandchildren, Reece and Grant Hines and Madison and Abigail Williams. He is further survived by his siblings, Dick (Marie) Richards of Fremont, NE, Bob (Kathy) Richards of Summerville, SC, Randy (Karen) Richards of St. Charles, MO, Jeanne (Gary) Kalas of Des Plaines, IL and Mary Steiner of Port Charlotte, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Billy as a child.
Memorials may be designated to the Elks Lodge 665 of Marshfield or the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation: Living Donor Institute Roseann Richards-Hines Education and Research Fund.
