Ronald "Ron" Joe Ridenour passed surrounded by loved ones to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Coleen Ridenour, daughters Karen Reid (Danny), Janet Peavler (Steve), Melanie Pritchard (Ray), and Jerri Hilton (John), grandchildren Katie Hutson (Sam), John Reid, Alyssa Ison, Annabel Peavler (Jeffrey), Jacob Peavler, Nathan Pritchard (Chaina), Isabella Hilton, and Seth Hilton, as well as two great-grandchildren Rosalie Hutson and Braxton Peavler. Ron is also survived by siblings Evelyn Bailey (David), Helen Ridenour, and Fletcher Ridenour (Vivian).
Ron spent the majority of his life playing old-time country music, a legacy he passed to several of his grandchildren, many of which continue to perform today. It brings the family much comfort to know that he is performing music again with the angels. So much can be said about the life Ron lived, but his most valuable asset was his family. Ron made sure to tell his family how much he loved them everyday. He was always so thankful for his family members who loved and accepted him. Ron often told his family that he was right with the Lord and he thanked God for everyone by name. As his wife often said, "He would have walked through fire for anyone of us."
Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory is honored to serve the Ridenour family and invites you to sign the online registry at www.gentrygriffey.com

I remember Ron coming to take Coleen to lunch at work. His truck would always be so clean and he would check to make sure mine was too and let me know if I needed to wash mine! Jackie
