Ronald E. Robbins

COHOES Ronald E. Robbins, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Little Falls, he was the son of the late Edward E. Robbins and Inez Van Arsdale Robbins.
Ron had been employed as a porter at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. He was best known for his passion and love of music and was an accomplished guitarist. He especially enjoyed jam sessions with his brother Jimmy and friends, gardening, woodworking and simply sitting on the porch and relaxing. He also always loved animals, especially his dogs.
Ron is survived by his former wife, Anna Strilka Robbins; by his loving children, Ronald E. Robbins, Jr. of Maine and Sheila Anderson of Cohoes; by his siblings, George E. Robbins of Cohoes, Tecia Auspelmyer (Gary) of Ballston Spa, Susan Mayo (Paul) of Halfmoon, Carol Robbins of Watervliet, Peggy Klippel of Cohoes and James Robbins (Cynthia Baum) of Cohoes; by his grandchildren, John Anderson, Jr., Haley Anderson, Cheyenne Anderson, Kailee Anderson, Mackenzie Robbins and Dawson Robbins; and by his great grandchildren, Avianna, Natalia, Charlotte and Layla. He was "Best Buddy" to his niece, Brandy and her children, Miranda, Hanna and Billy. Ron is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his siblings, Jean Langlais and Edward E. Robbins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 p.m.
