Ronald Allen Robel
October 22, 1939 – September 12, 2025
Ronald "Ron" Allen Robel, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Ron was born on October 22, 1939, in Columbus, Wisconsin, the second of ten children to Ralph and Estelle (Brierton) Robel. He spent his early years on the family farm in Mapleton, where he learned the values of hard work and family. As a teenager, after the family moved to Hartford, Ron embraced new opportunities that shaped his future and forged lasting friendships.
On January 21, 1961, Ron married the love of his life, Lorry Gorgan. Together, they raised three children and built a life filled with love and devotion. Ron was always a hard worker; he founded Badger Cable and operated the company until selling it in 2009, yet continued working with the business until his retirement. His strong work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In his leisure time, Ron enjoyed golfing and cherished taking his grandchildren to the cabin in Eagle River. His grandchildren will forever hold dear the memories of fishing, swimming, and campfires on Lake Arbutus. Above all, he loved cheering on the Brewers and Packers with his beloved wife by his side.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lorry; his daughter, Debbie (Dudley) Fredrickson of Damon, TX; and his sons, Mark (Lori) Robel of Colgate, WI, and Don (Kay) Robel of Iron Ridge, WI. He was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren: Jesse (Jessica) Hahn of Waukegan, IL; Chelsea Hahn of Richmond, TX; Luke Robel of Colgate, WI; Ashley Robel of Iron Ridge, WI; and Lincoln (Mary) Robel of Pulaski, WI. He absolutely adored his three great-granddaughters: Phoebe Curto, Lyra Robel, and Adeline "Addy" Robel, whose laughter brought him immense joy.
He is further survived by brothers Bob (Evie) Robel and Jim (Judy) Robel; sisters Patty Snyder, Jeanne (Dave) Reimer, Cathy Grady, Judy (John) Lemke, and Karen Robel. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Ted Gorgan, Ken (DeeDee) Gorgan, Mike Gorgan, and John (Hazel) Gorgan; dozens of nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and generosity.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sharen; brother Rusty; brothers-in-law Chip Snyder and Jerry Grady; parents-in-law Jack and Marion Gorgan; sister-in-law Judy and husband Harry Huggins; nephew Scott Huggins; niece Bobby Joe Wren; niece Joanie Krueger; and sister-in-law Joann Gorgan.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life at this time. Though we mourn his passing, we will always carry his memory in our hearts, knowing that his spirit and love remain with us always.
