Ronald Alfred Robichaud, 80, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 17, 2025 from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Ron was born Joseph Alfred Ronald on September 5, 1944 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada to Joseph "Alfred" and Marie "Elsie" (nee Cormier) Robichaud. In 1951, they emigrated to the United States via the border crossing in Vanceboro, Maine to settle in Gardner, Massachusetts and to reunite with many family members already in the area. It was there, as well as in New Brunswick before, where he was immersed in regular family gatherings, all with their fiddles and guitars, playing French Acadian influenced music, a tradition started and taught by his grandmother. During his early school years, he learned to speak English while his mother language, French, was still regularly spoken at home. Soon after the start of his senior year of high school, in November 1961, his family relocated to a house they built in Lake Worth, Florida and where he graduated from Lake Worth High School the following year in 1962. A year later, he and his younger brother joined up with the original "Surf Fossils" group of young men who enjoyed their passion for surfing all along the Florida Atlantic coast from Delray Beach to Cocoa Beach. Ron also surfed the Pacific waters during his short time living near Los Angeles, California. After having received his Associates Degree from Palm Beach Community College, he worked for Palm Beach County and at RCA before joining German corporation Siemens AG in Boca Raton, Florida at their Research and Development U.S. Headquarters for Telecommunications Software Engineering as a software engineer. While working at Siemens, he met his wife Manon (nee Keresztes) in 1984 and together they enjoyed playing cards, traveling, scuba diving and windsurfing. They married in 1986 and later started a family, welcoming Trevor and Soleil. He frequently took them to Florida's many beaches, and as a coach for SABR (Soccer Association of Boca Raton), encouraged their love of soccer. Ron still worked a few more years before retiring from a long career at Siemens, when the family moved from Boca Raton, Florida to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 2001, first settling in Johns Creek, and then later in Alpharetta. It was during this time he became an enthusiastic UGA football and Atlanta United FC soccer fan. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Elsie, his sister Noella, and niece Crystal. Ron is dearly missed and will be forever remembered by all who knew him. He was a kind and loving husband to his surviving wife, Manon, and adoring father to his three children as he supported them in their various activities. He is survived by his son from his first marriage, Eric and spouse Laurael of Durham, North Carolina, second son Trevor, and daughter Soleil and spouse Gracen of Roswell, Georgia. He is also survived by his five siblings, Fern Robichaud, Irene Hulett and spouse George, both of Asheville, North Carolina, Romeo and spouse Melody of Hood River, Oregon, Claudette and spouse Kelly Harrington of Black Mountain, North Carolina, and Roger of Escondido, California. Additionally, he is survived by his step-grandson, Shane Brolley, twelve nieces and nephews, as well as twenty-one grandnieces and grandnephews. Because of Ron's love of the ocean, and per his wishes, we will celebrate his life at a memorial service with a scattering of his cremated remains in the waters off the Florida Atlantic coast at a later date to be announced.
