RONALD WARREN Obituary

RONALD "RON" WARREN, JR. Ronald "Ron" Warren, Jr. passed away at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida, on February 5, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on January 9, 1945, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Betty Beck and Ronald Warren, Ron lived a life of faith, family, service and care about others. A graduate of Kokomo High School, Ron continued his education at Indiana University, earning a BS in Real Estate and Construction from the IU School of Business. It was at IU where he met his future wife, Susan Ramsay. They were married on January 28, 1967 and recently celebrated their 58th anniversary at home with their children. Ron and Susan had three children, Chris of Noblesville, Rick (Julia) of Noblesville, and Katie (Jeff) Bal of Frisco, Texas. He was a devoted and cherished Bubba to his eight grandchildren, Jack, Curt and Faith Warren, Ellie, Ansley and Aliya Warren, Logan and Greyson Bal. Ron is also survived by his sister, Gay Hoover of Kokomo and his brother Don Warren of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. Ron's faith, his relationship with Jesus, and his family were most important in his life, and he gave selflessly to others. He overcame countless medical complications and procedures, yet he was always ready to take on the next battle presented to him. After graduation from Indiana University, Ron became Communications Officer aboard the USS Leahy (DLG -16). He was a part of the Unitas X South American Training Operation during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant in 1979. Following his naval service, Ron founded Warren-Havens real estate and construction business in Tipton, Indiana with his partner, Don Havens. He also partnered with Bill Maynard and Terry Weber in this business. During his tenure with Warren-Havens, Ron built over 200 homes and apartments in the Tipton area and developed a 43 unit subdivision in Arcadia. Later, as owner of Ramsay Business Solutions in Tipton, he worked with valuable and dedicated people. His time working with his son, Chris during Ramsay's transition from printing to Office Solutions was special to Ron. Ron said he was proud to make payroll for 34 years for all employees at RBS. During his years in Tipton, Ron was Treasurer of Tipton County Foundation, President of Tipton County Economic Development Corporation, President of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, and Treasurer of Kemp United Methodist Church. Upon retirement and the sale of their business, Ron and Susan moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 2015. They enjoyed ten years living in the community of Emerald Pointe and made many new friends. Ron served the community through the Infrastructure and Budget Committees. Ron and Susan loved to attend New Life Church in the Park. He enjoyed riding his bike in the community and looking out over the Peace River where he lived. He often talked to Susan about "Goin' Down to the River to Pray." This summer, Ron's family will gather for their 30th Annual trip together, celebrating the legacy of the man they knew and loved as husband, dad, and Bubba. No community services are planned. Friends are encouraged to celebrate Ron's life and memory by donating to their favorite charity or to pay it forward with an act of kindness, just as Ron often did. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to assist the Warren family at this time and messages of condolence for Ron's family may be left on his obituary page at www.young-nichols.com.
