Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Cooke, age 78, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday evening, June 14, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Cooke was born in Surry County on August 15, 1946, to the late Hersey Cooke and Ossie Mae Booker Cooke. He was an avid golfer and former member of White Pines Country Club. He was a graduate of Mount Airy High School and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving is his daughter, Heather Stamey (Eric); two grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Crystal Cooke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Tilley, and brother, Ricky Cooke. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Service Chapel of Mount Airy with Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM and at other times at the Cooke home, 311 Dudley Avenue, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Cooke family.
