Ronald Ruffner passed away in the presence of his wife and children in his home on March 8 after a very short and agonizing battle with aggressive cancer.
Ronald was born to Ann Ellis and John Ruffner
Ronald proudly enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1971, at 18 years old. He also served in the Army Reserve and the Indiana National Guard. He retired from the military in 2001.

He loved all animals, especially his cats. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and gardening. Ron is survived by his wife Martha Ruffner, daughters Lois (Mike) Yergler of Florida, Amanda (Greg) Pine of Montgomery County, son Lester (Shakia) Wright of Vermillion County, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. His fur children, Thelma, Louise, and Ginger. His mother, Ann Ellis of Plainfield; sister Debra Ruffner of Crawfordsville; and his brothers, Derlynn Ruffner of South Carolina and Romera Ruffner of Crawfordsville. Ron was preceded in death by his father, John Ruffner, and his sister, Revonda, and her two daughters. The family is requesting casual dress for all services.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 15, at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Cregger officiating.
