Ron Sellers of Rush City passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 peacefully after a long battle with cancer at the age of 65. In the days preceding his passing Ron was surrounded by his immediate family. He made jokes up until his death. He loved his cat Scout who misses him deeply.
Ronald Edwin Sellers was born June 6, 1959 to Donald Sr. and Elsie (Timmers) Sellers in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Ron was a gunsmith for 45 years. First at St. Paul's East Side Gun shop with his uncle and then A-2-Z Gun Shop in Rush City where he made his home. He was Planning Commissioner of Rush City for 15 years and was also an upstanding member of the Eagles Club for 20 years, ultimately becoming club President. In his younger years he was an avid motorcyclist and tough guy on the East Side of St. Paul.
The past few years, Ron took up cooking, drawing and arts as well as making something from nothing. He loved antiquing and creating gifts for those he loved and nothing made him happier than a good practical joke.
Ron is survived by his significant other of 31 years, Susan Reller; stepson Joseph Reller (Cherie Yates); mother Elsie Harrington; brothers Michael (Anita) Sellers, Punky (Heather) Sellers, Allen Sellers; sister Susie Sellers; adopted grandchildren Marty, Sabrina, Kristina, Andrea, Ayana, Makenna, Joey, Jude; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald Sellers, Sr.; daughter-in-law Desiree Sellers; brother Tiger Sellers; uncles Edwin (Jan) Timmers, Michael Timmers, many other loved ones.
A memorial gathering for Ron will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
