Ronald "Ron" Lee Shadwick, age 78, of rural Dearing, Kansas passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. Ron was a man who cherished life's simplicities and found joy in places most overlooked. He held an unwavering love for his family, his farm, and the quiet serenity of nature around him. Ron walked the earth with a humble heart, yet his life was anything but ordinary.
Ron was born on July 28, 1947, in Neosho, Missouri to Silver Lee and Ernestine Imogene (Kraft) Shadwick. He grew up in Neosho where he attended local schools and earned his high school diploma. Ron furthered his education at Crowder College and Missouri Southern where he earned his bachelor's degree in business accounting.
On August 2, 1968, he married the love of his life, Linda Jodean "Jody" Andrews in Joplin, Missouri. The couple made their home in rural Coffeyville, Kansas where they raised their three children, Melissa, Jeremy and Joshua. Ron was a man of great moral fortitude who taught his children valuable life lessons and instilled in them strong moral values.
In 1976, Ron began working at Parmac, where he eventually retired as a Controller in 2020. Despite the hustle and bustle of his professional life, Ron never lost sight of the things that mattered most to him. He was a cattleman, rancher, and farmer, roles he took on with immense dedication and pride. His love for animals was pure, especially his cows, which he loved dearly. His hobbies also included traveling, going on cruises, fishing, and spending time at the lake. Ron was a man of many tastes, always eager to try new cuisines and indulge in novel experiences. He was a quiet jokester, often lighting up a room with his infectious laughter and sense of humor.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished by his wife, Linda "Jody" Shadwick of the home; children, Melissa Shadwick Stewart, Jeremy (Megan) Shadwick, Joshua (Kristen) Shadwick; five grandchildren and one grandchild on the way; siblings, Reg Shadwick and wife, Cathy, LeAnn Shadwick Parkison along with numerous extended family members and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silver and Imogene Shadwick.
Following Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
