SPRING BRANCH - January 5, 1960 - April 12, 2025. Ronald "Ronny" Tyler Smith, Jr., loving partner, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Spring Branch, Texas. Born on January 5, 1960, in College Station, Texas to the late Ronald and Jonita Smith, he later moved with his family to McAllen, Texas. He graduated from McAllen High School as a member of the Class of 1978. Following high school, he attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy.

His work career began at Asgrow Vegetable Seed Company and throughout the years he worked for Keithly Williams Seed Company, Monsanto, H-E-B and Keller Williams Hill Country. Ronny was a proud member of the Century Club of Texas A&M University, National Association of REALTORS and Texas Association of REALTORS and spent several years serving on the River Crossing Property Owners Association in Spring Branch, TX.

Ronny had many life-long friends that he stayed in contact with, and his greatest joy was spending time with them and his family. He loved the outdoors and had an affection for the Big Bend area and the beauty of its natural region.

Ronny was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Jonita Smith. He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Richard Samya; his sisters, Sherri Lynn Smith, Joanne Crawford (and her husband Jeff), Kathy Blount (and her husband Daniel), his brother, Ralph Hamilton Smith (and his wife Jeni), nieces, nephews and numerous cousins, all of whom he loved and who loved him back.

Ronny was more than a friend - he was family. For over 25 years and one of David´s oldest and most dearest friends. Sharing in life´s countless adventures, long talks, and unforgettable trips. Ronny will always hold a special place in my heart. His kindness, his laughter, and his spirit made an impact on everyone lucky enough to know him. While we grieve his loss, we also celebrate the memories, the stories, and the love he left behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
