Mr. Homer Lynton Smith, Jr., age 71, of Carroll County, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Born August 18, 1953, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Homer Lynton Smith, Sr. and Mary Gaulding Smith. Lynton was a graduate of Carrollton High School and worked for many years as a professional painter. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, croquet, and fishing-simple pleasures that brought him peace and joy.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Smith and Greta Ayers; grandchildren, Isabella Brown, Alivia Brown, Blake Ayers, and Zachary Ayers; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Ayers; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lynn and Larry Frazier; and several nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Farmer Smith, and infant daughter, Amy Smith.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses by clicking the "Donate Now" button at the top of his obituary page.
