Ronald L. Smith

Ronald L. Smith, 65, of Deptford NJ, passed away on October 18, 2025, at home with his wife of 42 years at his side. Ron was born in Marks, Mississippi; he resided in Memphis, TN and Gloversville, NY before moving to New Jersey in 2014. He was a Fuel Supervisor for Northwest Airlines at Memphis International Airport, Memphis, TN and then a Warehouse Supervisor at Walmart Distribution Center in Gloversville, NY.

Ron loved to fish and watch football. Ron also loved to cook, especially on the grill. Ron loved his wife most of all and was happiest when they were together surrounded by the grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Kenny Maness (nephew), his father, Donald Smith Sr. and his brother Donald Smith Jr.

Ron is survived by his wife Glynda “Chee-Chee” Smith (nee Maness); son Jason Sanders of Deptford, NJ; sister Connie Martin of Amsterdam, NY; grandchildren Sierra Cheri, Austin Lee, Alaina Grace & Kaylee Marie; mother-in-law Grace Poindexter; sisters-in law Debra Bradin & Robin Maness; brothers-in-law Randy (Jane) Maness, Jamey (Kelly) Maness & Barry Maness; 11 nieces and 5 nephews. .

Visitation 10:30 am until the memorial service at 12 noon Saturday November 29th at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware Street Woodbury, NJ 08096. In leiu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family at 154 Plymouth Drive, Deptford, NJ 08096.
