Ronald Soares

Ronald Charles "Captain Ron" Soares, 84, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 surrounded by the love and presence of his family. Born in Fall River, Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose gentle spirit and steady warmth touched countless lives.

    Born with a natural kindness and a quiet strength, Ronald approached each day with humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys-family gatherings, good conversation, and the comfort of being together with friends and family.

    Ron worked for many years managing at Al and Paul's in Fall River, New Bedford & Newport. He also worked at the Fall River Country Club. To know Ron was to know his love for the ocean where he spent his happiest moments with family and friends navigating the coastal waters on his boat "Day by Day". Whether he was embarking on a journey to the Vineyard, fishing with his grandchildren, or simply watching the sunrise from the dock, the water was his sanctuary. He also enjoyed camping and loved animals who were drawn to his gentle nature.

    He is survived by his sons Kenneth (wife Lori), Jeffery (wife Traci); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Abbott (husband Jeremy), Nicholas Soares, Holly Martin (husband Jacob), and Ryan Soares (fiancé Alexa); He also leaves behind dear family friend- Pam Guiliano. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Joanne, daughter Jacqueline, and his pug "Boo".

    A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 9AM-11AM at Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main Street Fall River, MA 02724.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Fall River.
