Ronald Earl Sprankle, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Titusville, Florida on September 16, 2025.

Born in Ohio on June 29, 1944, Ron's lifelong curiosity and passion for science began early, culminating in a win at the State Science Fair during his high school years.

In 1961, Ron joined the United States Air Force, serving honorably until 1965. While stationed in England, he met the love of his life, Gloria. After returning to the United States, Ron and Gloria were married in 1965 and soon moved to Florida, where Ron accepted a position at the MILA tracking station in Merritt Island during the Gemini Program.

Ron and Gloria settled in Titusville in 1966 where they raised their two daughters. Ron's career at MILA spanned decades, supporting NASA's Apollo missions and the Space Shuttle program until his retirement. Beyond his professional achievements, Ron was an avid hobbyist with a deep appreciation for life's finer details. He had a passion for photography, cultivated beautiful orchids, and enjoyed windsurfing and cycling. A true enthusiast of English beer, Ron even brewed and bottled his own ale in his garage - a craft he took great pride in. Ron will be remembered for his sharp intellect, wit and appreciation of music, especially blues, jazz, rock and classical music.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Sprankle; daughters Christie Crosby (Sean) and Tara Weaver (Steve); grandsons Jorden Culleny, Jacob Culleny, and Noah Crosby; and three great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Darlene, and three brothers, David, Marvin and Kirk. He will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in a private service for immediate family.
