Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes – MacDonald Chapel - Howell on Jan. 19, 2026.
Ronald Leon Sredzinski, long time resident of Howell, recently residing in Prudenville, passed away Thursday, January 15th at Mother Theresa Hospice House in Lansing at 73 years of age. Ron passed away peacefully while accompanied by his loving wife of 17 years, Lynn (Hutchins) Sredzinski. He is survived by his wife, Lynn, two sons Timothy (Alanna) and Matthew (Kate), and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Irene Sredzinski, and his brother Kenneth Sredzinski.
Ron was considered a jack-of-all-trades. He worked many years in his father Leon's business, Hercules Welding Products, Co. in Warren, before moving on to become a manager at the department store Ames in Howell. Later, he was an executive chef for Oak Management, working first at Tyrone Hills Golf Course and Banquet Center in Fenton (with his son Tim), and then at the Pontiac-Waterford Elks Club (with both sons). He was also the manager of the Wild Sage restaurant in Howell (again working with Tim). Ron also became a construction worker for Paulson's Construction, before finally becoming a self-employed construction/handy-man.
Ron was a also a great musician. He played the drums in bands for many years in Livingston County and surrounding areas. Most notably, the Family Affair band with former wife (and mother to his sons) Cheryl Miller on vocals and keys and brother Kenny on guitar. His love of music, particularly Bob Seger, is reflected in his sons Tim and Matt, who play guitar and drums, respectively.
Ron was always the consummate entertainer and jokester. He was known for his many "dad jokes" and "groaners." In his final years, he dubbed himself "Crazy Ron," and had some fun with a few stand-up comedy gigs in the Houghton Lake and Prudenville area.
Ron was a very compassionate human. He was the kind of person that would help anyone in need. In earlier years, Ron was involved in the Knights of Columbus, and would play Santa Clause during the Christmas parties. Ron and Lynn would also donate their time bell ringing for the Salvation Army.
