Roberta (Bobbie) Sredzinski
VALPARAISO - Roberta (Bobbie) Sredzinski, peacefully joined the love of her life, Leo, in heaven on July 28, 2022 at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her loving children. Bobbie was blessed with five children who just adored her: Lee (Melinda) Sredzinski, Laura (Paul) Watts, Lisa (Bill) Martin, Leslie (Kevin) Devine, and Lynn (Dale) Clapp. Mom loved all of her sons-in-law and her daughter-in-law like they were her own. She was the best and loving grandmother to Justin (Carly) Vest, Brandi (Joe) Santogatta, Lisa (Brian) Beller, Thomas Devine, Dale (Rebecca) Clapp, Emily Martin (Brad), and Kelly (Scott) Hutchins. Her loves were her great-grandchildren: Meleah, Carter, Cooper, Kyla, Eva, and Harrison. She had so many joys in her life, notably her nieces and nephews: Catherine, Greg, David, Nancy, and Joanne; the children of her late brother, Adolph Cherechinsky. She loved her sister-in-law, Nancy Balzer; and she was a dear friend to Evelyn Helm, Carol O'Donnell, and Rita Viellieu. She is survived also by Leo's family: Danny, Diane, Elaine, and Judy and their families. Bobbie was proud to be the daughter of the late Adolph and Helen Cherechinsky, who loved her so much.
Bobbie was a homemaker for many years and also worked at Bishop Noll Institute and Chicago Magazine.
Bobbie was an active member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso and a former member of OLG in Highland. She loved watching her IU basketball games and was an avid Bobby Knight fan.
Our mom will be greatly missed but we know she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father, our dad, her parents, brother, and many of her dear friends.
There will be a private family funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso entrusted with arrangements.

A loving goodbye to Bobbie, my dear friend of 88 years. So many fun and fond memories of growing up. Painting our fingernails with a red crayon, drawing a hopscotch game on the sidewalk, and borrowing each other´s clothes as a teenager. I know God has been waiting for you with open arms. Deepest sympathy to your loved ones. I love you, dear heart.

Mom and I want to express our condolences to your family on your Mom's passing. Bobbie and Mom enjoyed many conversations about family and they always lit up when they saw each other--sweet friends. My daughter Renee played with Brandi as babies, as Laura and Paul lived in the same neighborhood for a few years. With all the family connections,
Leo & Bobbie and Jack and Betty,

We lost our beautiful, hilarious, happy aunt two days ago at the age of 90. My aunt Bobbie was the mother of my identical cousin and life-long bestie, Lisa Sredzinski Martin. Aunt Bobbie was the second Wiggy Girl, the first being our grandmother, her mother Helen Cherechinsky.
Aunt Bobby raised 5 amazing children after our uncle Leo (Upright bass player in The Lanny Orpen Trio) died of a heart attack suddenly 50 years ago. Because of our grandparents and the closeness of our families, our lives have been forever intertwined. She was my fathers sister.
The grace, dignity, humor, and wigginess with which she lived her life under situations that would have broken the best of us was truly an inspiration. Anybody who knew her adored her. She and my mom were sister-wives took us on wild adventures with all 10 of us kids.
My cousins and their spouses must be grieving deeply, as we all are, but Bobbie´s was a life well-lived with generosity, faith, spirit (an IU Basketball fan). Would that we could all be like her.
She and I shared a passion for medical programs. We called ourselves Doctors by proxy since we watched every episode of ER, Gray´s Anatomy, New Amsterdam and House, to name a few. We could diagnose anything, especially ourselves since we were co-hypochondriacs as well. the irony here is Lee, her oldest son has been a life-long doctor and told us those shows were filled with unrealities. But that never stopped us from calling ourselves physicians.
In her last few days, she was literally seeing Leo, her husband. To me, this is an amazing gift to us all to keep the faith because we think we know what´s ahead of us, but I believe in miracles and so did she.
I love you with all my heart Aunt Bobby. Your are in my blood and will never be forgotten. To Lee, Laura, Lisa, Leslie, Lynn, Mel, Paul, Kevin, Dale, Justin, Carley, Meleah, Toommy, Kelly and Dale, Brandi and Lisa, I am sending you all my love and condolences and holding you all in my heart.
To my mother, brother and sisters and other cousins, I will help carry my weight of the grief and always keep her in my heart.
Rest in Bliss, Aunt Bobbie, with the other wonderful souls that have been awaiting your company. save a seat for me at the Wheel of Fortune slots, will ya?
