Ronald (Ron) E. Strader, born October 10, 1944, in Wheeling, WV, passed away at OSU Hospital in Hospice Care on July 8, 2024, he resided in Grove City, Ohio.
He graduated from Venice High School in Venice, Florida, and earned his degree in Buisness Administration from West Liberty State College in 1970 in West Liberty, W. Va. He served in the United State Navy from 1962-1966. Ron retired from Belmont County Senior Services in St. Clairsville, Ohio, in 2019.
Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Mistic Strader; son Craig Strader and daughter Tamara Strader, both of Columbus, Ohio; granddaughter Tylar Strader of London, Ohio; grandson Alex Metcalf, granddaughter Savannah Strader, and great-granddaughter Meredith Metcalf, all from Belmont, Ohio; and two brothers, Donald A. Strader (wife Billie) of Orient, Ohio, and Ralph Strader (wife Susan) of Immokolee, Florida. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Shelby Anne Strader; parents Arthur and Eulah Strader; sisters Betty Bogers and Ada Brown; and brothers Arthur Jr. and Melvin Strader.
Ron was a very active member of the Evans Senior Center in Grove City. He was an avid card player, participated in volleyball and cornhole, and was involved in several plays at the center. He was loved by his friends and family and considered Frank Long one of his brothers.
Known for his quick wit and pleasing manner, Ron will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
