Ronald "Ron" B. Strader

Ronald "Ron" B. Strader, age 90, Southampton MA. passed away on August 11, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 22, 1935, in Easthampton, MA he was the son of William Strader and Irene (Houle -Daigle) Strader. He worked at Commonwealth Felt Co in Northampton as a foreman for 32 years.

Ron married the love of his life Margaret Taylor on June 4, 1955, they were married for 70 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was the light and laughter in every room, known for his quick wit, playful rhyming and a smile that turned gatherings into a celebration. He was a man of many trades. Ron could fix, build, and create almost anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Ron loved spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, horseback riding, yard work and tending to his koi fishpond. Although his greatest joy was found in the stories, laughter and love shared with all those who he held dear. He cast his line in waters wide, With family always by his side. Though boats may rest and rods grow still, His spirit sails- it always will.

Ron leaves behind his devoted wife, Margaret (Taylor), his daughter, Debra (Petersen) Brannigan, his son Robin Strader, grandchildren Jason (Maranda) Petersen, Jaime (Dustin) Paschal, Cherilyn Strader, great grandchildren; Paige and Jason Jr. Petersen, Tylor and Colin Paschal, great-great-grandchildren Dallas and Colton Petersen, he also leaves his brother Rodney "Penny" and his wife Gail Strader whom were not only family but also his lifelong best friends who shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and friendship. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters; Doris Petifer, Rita Monska, and Arlene Hemmer, his brothers Eugene Daigle, Carl and Leland Strader, and son-in-law Charles Brannigan. His light will forever shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St. Easthampton was entrusted with his cremation. Per the families request there will be no services.
