Ronald Leo Styer was born on February 26, 1937, in Huron, SD. He was the firstborn to Leo and Vera (Degen) Styer, and was followed by sisters: Jurine, Marilyn, and Cynthia. The family moved to Letcher, SD, where Ron attended school through high school. It was here where Ron met the love of his life, Colette. They were married on May 17, 1958, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Letcher, SD, beginning a beautiful life together. Their union was blessed with six children.

Ron worked at the Letcher Locker faithfully until health challenges brought him and his family to Texas. His strong faith carried him through many health struggles over the years. Ron and Colette later moved back to Wilmot, SD, to retire and enjoy their golden years. Ron never met a stranger. His warm heart and helping hands were known by many. He had a deep love for working with his hands; especially creating many beautiful things by turning wood on his lathe. He found great joy in serving others through his gifts.

Ron is survived by his wife of 66 years, Colette Styer of Wilmot, SD; daughter, Veronica Cook and husband, Jeff of Sunrise Beach, TX; daughter, Theresa Travis of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Dawn Styer of Katy, TX; son, Joseph Styer and wife, Kimberly of Hobbs, NM; son, John Styer and wife, Becky of Titusville, FL; son, Dan Styer and wife, Cynthia of Lago Vista, TX; sister, Jurine Grabenstein of Victoria, TX; sister, Marilyn Meyers and husband, Jerry of Brandon, SD; and sister, Cynthia Hubbard and husband, Jim of Fort Collins, CO. He is also lovingly remembered by his 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews, colleagues, and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Vera Styer; two grandchildren: Casey Styer, and Timothy Strevel; and brother-in-law, Jody Grabenstein.

His life was marked by kindness, faith, and dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

We want to express our deep gratitude to the compassionate team at Ortonville Area Health Services. Your unwavering dedication, care and love brought comfort and strength to Ron during his health challenges. Each of you played a vital role in his journey, and for that, we are profoundly thankful.

With sincere appreciation, The Styer Family
