Ronald Tate Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wetzel Funeral Home - Hanover on Dec. 30, 2025.
Ronald W. Tate, Jr., 39, of Hanover, formerly of Pasadena, MD, and Asheville, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home. He was the loving and devoted husband of Kathleen R. (Corbett) Tate.

Born July 2, 1986, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ronald was the son of Ronald W. Tate, Sr., and Teresa A. (Gravel) Tate, both of Horse Shoe, North Carolina. He was raised in Pasadena, where he attended high school and developed a lifelong passion for creativity and self-expression.

Ronald was a true artist at heart. His creativity spanned many forms, including music, visual art, and tattooing. A talented musician, he played guitar, bass, and drums, and music was central to his life. He also enjoyed drawing and working as a tattoo artist, always finding new ways to express himself through art. In his free time, Ronald enjoyed playing video games, skateboarding, and sharing his interests with those around him.

Ronald met his wife, Kathleen, in Pasadena, and the two began dating in 2011. They were married in 2016, beginning a life together filled with love, creativity, and shared experiences. Ronald introduced Kathleen to his deep appreciation for music and the arts, passions they continued to enjoy together throughout their marriage. After living in Pasadena, they spent time in Asheville, North Carolina, where they cherished hiking in the mountains and attending concerts. Eventually, they made their home in Hanover.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ronald is survived by his sister, Michele Gunn, and her wife, Morgan; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Gravel of Claxton, Georgia; and his godmother, Jean Rieir, also of Claxton, Georgia. He is further survived by many loving extended family members and friends. Ronald also leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Muska and Ozzy, who meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to Suicide Prevention of York, online here.
