Ronald Earl Thomas

Ronald Earl Thomas, known affectionately as Ron, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 71, in Lisle, IL. Born on February 15, 1953, in Chicago, IL, Ron was a simple man who lived his life ensuring that those around him were always having a good time.
Ron attended Kennedy High School and spent most of his life as a truck driver before retiring in 2021. He was a man who never took himself too seriously. He loved to make people laugh and would go the extra mile to always ensure that everyone around him was enjoying themselves. This was evident in his passion for hosting epic Halloween parties and his love for organizing trips in his 15-passenger van, filled with family and friends, creating shared memories that many will cherish forever.
Beyond his love for social gatherings, Ron had a diverse range of hobbies. He was a music enthusiast (especially the Eagles), an avid collector of chess sets and tools, and enjoyed spending time in his camper at Woodhaven Lakes. His weekends often found him exploring garage sales, always on the lookout for unique finds to add to his collections.
Ron leaves behind his beloved wife, Kristine Thomas, and a loving family including his daughters, April Fiorito (Neil) and Sara Szok (Carter); step-son, Joseph Domkoski (Liz); sister, Victoria Mariani and brother, Kenneth Thomas (Carolyn). He was a cherished grandfather to Alyssa (Matt), Cade, Cara, AlexZander, Jaxson, and Lincoln. Ron will also be fondly remembered by his many nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eleanor Thomas and brother-in-law Umberto Mariani.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, where friends and family will gather to honor Ron's memory and the joy he brought into their lives. His legacy of laughter, generosity, and spirited gatherings will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
