Brian Joseph Thomas, 58, passed away on September 26, 2025, in Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Iles Westover Chapel. Brian will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery following services.
Brian was born in Iowa City on September 10, 1967, to Edith (Lewis) and Donald Thomas Sr. He graduated from Iowa City High School with the Class of 1985. Brian was a hard working and loyal person, dedicating 30 years to B-Bops, working as a manager. He was a die-hard Hawkeye fan on Saturday's and was always rooting for the Raider's on Sunday.
Anyone who knew Brian could attest to his quick-witted sense of humor and his love of sarcasm. His greatest joys were spending time with the family and great friends whom he dearly loved. One of his greatest joys was hanging out with his nephew, Nate. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Brian is survived by his sisters, Donna Elarton and Sylvia Thomas; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donnie.
