Ronald Lee Tomac Jr., 61, of Gladstone, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 following a brief illness.
Ronald was born on February 5, 1964, in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ronald Lee Tomac Sr. and Marie Margarette (Walz) Tomac. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a role that reflected his strength, dedication, and deep sense of loyalty.
Ronald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared a loving life with his wife, Leta Tomac, and found his greatest joy in time spent with family and those he loved most. He especially cherished Christmas, family gatherings, and moments shared around the card table.
Ronald had a true love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, deer camp, and camping with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He was also a proud pet parent to Sadie and Misty, who brought him comfort and companionship.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Leta Tomac; children Branden (Vincent) Hagman of Fort Gordon, Georgia; Tracy (Brandon Sexton) Beaudo of Gladstone, Michigan; Joshua Giroux of Gladstone, Michigan; and Jason (Amy) Giroux of Wells, Michigan. He was a proud grandfather to Lucas, Blake, Madyson, Ben, Chase, Jonathan, Nathan, Devin, Jayden, Zachariah, Zayden, Emmit, and Jeffery, and a beloved "fur grandparent" to Bella, Roscoe, Steven, and Allen.
He is also survived by his siblings Dawn Tomac, Lorrie (Brian) Bottruff, Thomas (Jamie) Tomac, and Toby Tomac; his stepmother Cathy Tomac of Gladstone, Michigan; his mother-in-law Kathlyn Minor of
Escanaba, Michigan; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Special thanks are extended to his close friends Cathy and Jim Gillmer, Denis "Bitch" Johnson, Aimee Kettner and her daughter Brealyn Linhart for their unwavering friendship and support.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Lee Tomac Sr. and Marie Margarette Tomac, and his beloved daughter, Samantha Tomac.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Gladstone Public Safety Officers, M. Nelsen and S. Pouliot, as well as Rampart and Crawford Funeral Homes, for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
Ronald will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, his generous heart, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Highland Golf Club, 3011 US-2, Escanaba from 4 – 6 p.m. Military honors will be held at 4:30 p.m.
