Bernice G. Patrick

Bernice G. Patrick, 87, of Bark River, passed away Thursday evening, February 5, 2026 at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.

She was born on December 1, 1938 in Hardwood, MI, daughter to Roy P. and Myrtle C. (Morse) Cousineau. Bernice graduated from Felch High School, class of 1957.

On June 6, 1959, the former Bernice Cousineau married Larry R. Patrick at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer.

Together, Bernice and Larry farmed for many years. After years of very hard work, Larry continued to work the farm and Bernice worked at the Island Resort and Casino for 20 years. She loved cooking for many; hosting family and friends and having gatherings at their home were moments treasured by her. Attending public auctions and collecting antiques were among Bernice's favorite activities. She was a very skilled hunter and enjoyed spending time at their camp. During the winter months, she enjoyed quilting and doing other crafts.

She was a member of Bark River TOPS for many years; she appreciated the continued support and friendships made with the group.

Among survivors include her children, Mark Patrick of Bark River, Brenda Charlier of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Aneila Patrick of Escanaba; and her cherished granddaughter, Seaira (Chris) Miracle; nephew, Rod Cousineau; and niece, Renee Leffew.

In addition to her parents and husband, Larry; she was preceded in death by siblings, Marie (Walter) Gaber and Harold Cousineau; son-in-law, Jeffery Guldswog; and many other remembered family members.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 20th from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (EST) at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.

Burial will take place on Monday, February 23rd at 11 a.m. at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
