Ronald Philip Trinchero, known to his loved ones as Ron (Ronnie), passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 80 due to a stroke. Ron was born at Sister's Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA, to Secondo and Josephine Trinchero.
Ron was his own man, a character, who lived a fulfilling life. He attended Holy Cross Elementary School and Holy Cross High School before furthering his education at San Jose State University earning his bachelor's degree. Ron proudly served in the Navy Reserves, demonstrating his commitment to his country.
Early years of his career, Ron worked for Granite Construction and Hal Porter Construction before becoming a business owner of Harris Brothers on the Pacific Garden Mall. He then specialized his retail store to Red Wing Boots and moved his business to the east side of Santa Cruz. After selling his store he went to work as a driver with Beckman's Bakery and then as a school bus driver for Live Oak School District until his retirement.
During a train trip with his mother and brother to the east coast to visit family as a pre-teen Ron created a bond with east coast sport teams. Throughout his life he was a New York Jets and Yankees fan. It always was a fun and spicy conservation with California sports fans.
To Ron, nothing could ever match the wonderful cooking of his beloved mother Josie! He loved how she would always cook not only for her sons (all day) but all their friends, anytime as requested.
Throughout his lifetime Ron always enjoyed the outdoors. His love of classic cars and cruising the cliffs, going to the beach, fishing, and his love of playing golf. Ron spent many wonderful years cruising the fairways of DeLaveaga as a course marshal.
Since his retirement "Nono" loved spending as much time possible with his grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife Suzanne Trinchero, his children, Douglas (Ashley) Trinchero of Fremont, CA, Michael Ann (Steve) Clifford of Spring, TX, beloved grandchildren Dominic, Alexandra, Christopher, Emily and Oliver. His brother Enrico (Bonnie) Trinchero of Palm Desert, CA and nephew Darin (Melanie) Trinchero.
Ron is preceded in death by his father and mother, Secondo "Dino" and Josephine "Josie" Trinchero and his first wife Cheryl Trinchero.
Memorial services celebrating Ron's life will be held Friday, March 1st at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial, Mission Chapel, 1927 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.
