Ronald "Ronnie" Tyner, 73, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Sunset Beach, NC.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, on November 14, 1951, Ronnie proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB in Marquette, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda H. Tyner of Sunset Beach, and his son, Kyle Tyner of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews: Keith and Paige Crouch, Lisa and Ron Turner; and by David Albright and family, along with a host of extended family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Danos and Cecil Tyner, and his sister, Dianne Lewis.
Ronnie began his career with Pepsi Cola and then moved on to being branch manager of Electrolux. Then moved into the food broker industry. He spent many years with Atlas Food Marketing and later worked independently as a food broker. He was known for his strong work ethic and even stronger sense of loyalty.
Ronnie treated everyone like family-his warmth and generosity made people feel instantly welcome. Whether you knew him for years or had just met him, you felt at home in his presence.
Fishing was Ronnie's lifelong passion. He spent his younger years in bass tournaments and countless summer evenings casting lines along the Pee Dee River. In 2006, he and Linda moved from Hamlet to High Point to be closer to their son, Kyle. Eventually, they retired to Sunset Beach, where Ronnie found his peace: fishing off the pier, enjoying the ocean breeze, and embracing the relaxed rhythm of coastal life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Harrington Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Dean Dixon officiating.
