Ronald Vincent Urkuski, also known to many as "Tanker", age 60, of Lewiston, MI passed away peacefully with his family watching over him on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Ronald's life began on June 19, 1965. He was born to Ronald K and Patricia K (Guard) Urkuski in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He grew in PA and graduated from Reading Evening High School there. Out of school, he joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. His military service read as: MSG, C-CO, 3-67 Armor, 1st Tiger BDE, 2nd Armored Division, Tank Commander, Operation Desert Storm. Tanker loved serving in the military and if given the choice would have served 10 lifetimes over.

After his second retirement from the military, Tanker worked for USPS which he enjoyed very much as well. He was a member of the American Legion, Anglers of the Ausable, and Garland Resort. In his leisure time, his favorite activity was fly fishing. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and darts. He loved time spent visiting and fishing in south Florida and Yellowstone National park.

Tanker gave himself and his heart to everyone. He was a very selfless, kind and generous man. Everything he did was out of compassion and care and expected nothing in return. His all time favorite love was spending time with his children and grandbaby Tatum.

Tanker is survived by his children, Patricia (Tyrese) Lane and Ronald James (Theresa Birdwell) Urkuski; his grandson, Tatum James Lane; his sisters, Laurie Urkuski and Julia (Gary) Luckenbill; his brother, Christopher Urkuski; his nieces, Lilly Urkuski and Amber Urkuski; and his nephews, Jeremy Kohl, Erik Reed, Tyler Urkuski, and Austin Urkuski.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Patricia and his brother, Patrick Urkuski.

A gathering to celebrate Tanker's life will be scheduled later in the year when the weather is more welcoming.
