Ronald Vinderslev Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Lee Vinderslev

September 12, 1951 - December 20, 2025

Ronald "Ron" Lee Vinderslev was born on September 12, 1951, to parents, Chris and Marian Vinderslev in Fremont, NE. The oldest of three boys, Ron grew up in the Millard area and graduated from Millard High School in 1969.

Ron met and later married Linda Malmros. Together they had three children, Shannon, Sean, and Shayna. Ron and Linda raised their family in the Paddock Road area of Omaha. Ron worked in the meat packing industry in Omaha for many years, starting with lugging beef and then in Quality Control and management. Ron spent his free time playing softball, bowling, and cheering on his children at their various activities. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. Though Ron and Linda would divorce, they became great friends later in life and continued to enjoy spending time with their shared family.

After his children grew up, Ron moved to Port Angeles, WA. There he worked at one of the local lumber mills as a forklift operator. In Washington, Ron enjoyed camping, fishing and crabbing, and spending time outdoors with his friends. Ron would later return to Omaha to be closer to family but would never lose his love for the Pacific Northwest.

Ron was a lifelong fan of Major League Baseball. While cheering on his favorite teams in Seattle and Kansas City were a priority, he watched every game he could, recording ones he missed to watch later. When it wasn't baseball season, he counted the days down to when Spring Training would begin. When he wasn't watching a ball game, Ron enjoyed long drives to look at local wildlife, especially migratory and predatory birds.

More than anything, Ron loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children, their spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed making people laugh and got a kick out of keeping the staff at his dialysis clinic on their toes. Ron's smile and laugh will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Ron Vinderslev was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Marian Vinderslev; brother, Bradley Vinderslev; and niece, Crystal Vinderslev.

He is survived by brother, Norm Vinderslev (Linda); daughter, Shannon Goldsborough (Derrick); son, Sean Vinderslev (Rebecca); daughter, Shayna Vinderslev (Dave); grandchildren, Tyler Melia, Gage Beins, and Marian Vinderslev; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Rylan, Elizabeth, Sophia, and Elaena, and multiple cousins and extended family members.

INURNMENT ceremony will take place on June 13, 2026, at the Herman Cemetery, Herman, NE, with a CELEBRATION ON LIFE luncheon to follow. Specific time will be announced later.
