Ronald W. Wade, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, in Morgantown, WV, at the age of 88. Born on October 9, 1936, in Wadestown, WV, Ronald's journey through life was marked by his unwavering kindness and commitment to his community.
Ronald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps before returning to his roots to make a mark in the agricultural industry. He was the proud owner of Wade's Meat Processing. A pillar in local agriculture, Ronald was a familiar face at county livestock auctions, supporting 4H, ham, bacon, and egg sales, Preston County Buckwheat Festival, and youth programs with his time and enthusiasm.
His dedication to service extended to his involvement with the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge in younger years, where he worked alongside fellow members to better the community. Ronald's strong faith was reflected in his membership and attendance at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
Ronald's loving presence will be profoundly missed by his family, including his wife of 62 years, Maxine Ackerman Wade; daughters, Melanie Bean (David) of Granville, Rhonda Wade Miller (Tim) of Morgantown; and his grandson, Dylan Wade Bean of Granville. He is also survived by his foster niece and nephew: Lisa DeNicola and Scott Wise; brother-in-law: James Ackerman (Betty) of Westover, and several nieces and nephews. He joins his late parents, E.L. "Bill" Wade and Helen Harker Wade, his brother: Richard Harker Wade, infant brother: John Wade, and foster brother: Harry Wise, in eternal rest.
A private graveside service was held at Cedar Grove Cemetery. A celebration of Ronald's life will be announced at a later date. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
